The Smiling Sun
Fills a cup
“Bring me the sunset in a cup.” — Emily Dickinson
🌹Thank you,🌹 Carolyn Hastings,🌻 for starting the twittle expressly and providing a home for my twittle. 🌻
The blooming spring flowers put out a poem and that too a twittle. Just as Emily Dickinson wished, nature brought “the sunset in a cup”.
The Sun colored my dreams
when tickling rays of sunbeams
brought out my true artistic style.
Listen to the music and smile.
Emily Dickinson was an avid gardener. The magic of her green thumb shows in her writing:
“I am very busy picking up stems and stamens as the hollyhocks leave their clothes around” (L771).
Ever heard of a student who put together 400 species of pressed plants — a herbarium? Emily Dickinson was that student who had a herbarium collection of 400 species with labels. The herbarium is treasured in the collection of the Houghton Library at Harvard University.
