Shouldn’t We Cease
a sight not so tender
The state of peace after a battle
Yet *“altered states” still embattle
The quest for peace comes with a price
Shouldn’t one think twice?
For a sliver of peace to commit a sin
Must we tally the departed kith and kin
For they left us not with enough shoulders
After everything is left in smolders
For weary souls to rest their heads
But lives perishing in dread
Until one side surrenders
A sight not so tender
For a piece of peace
Shouldn’t we cease?
The Earth suffers likewise
Humans need to get wise
Thank you, Thief, for letting me borrow the term — “altered states”.
Thank you for your time here.
