Princess Mia and The Lion — Part II
A fiction
Princess Mia helped the lion stand closer to the window, stood on him to reach the window, and peeked outside it. She noticed no one outside the window and tried to open it. Much to her surprise, the window was loose and opened outwards.
Soon Mia was outside in broad daylight by squeezing herself through the narrow window. After she was out, she extended her frail hand to the lion, who was reluctant to get out, for he would scratch Mia’s hand with his paws. However, Mia did not mind and wanted her new friend to be free as well.
The lion carefully grabs Mia’s hands as Mia struggles to hold herself outside the window frame lest she would be dragged back into the dungeon by the lion’s weight.
Both were very happy to be free outside and walked towards the noises that seemed to be coming from the nearby villages. They set up a little den hidden behind the thicket, by the river, close to the town but far from the din. The shelter was perfect for spending their precious time together.
After dark one day, the lion sips the river water, he disappears, and only his light shines through. Mia stares without blinking at the unbelievable magical transformation of the lion into the light.
