A Poem — OTTAVA RIMAS

Adobe Stock (licensed)

Seldom for praise, they do not cause a mayhem
And they care not for pennies nor for food
Enthusiastic emotions follow them
Wandering the thick woods wearing their moods
Slipping on a smooth stone, tripping on a stem
Often a pensive smile except in their brood
Metaphoric works never fail us at all
Saving their true experiences so tall

A magnificent ocean view fills their day
Overstrained writing in moments so tense
Always to the brim, never to breeze away
Alliteration, assonance, no suspense
Weavers of dreams, ocean waves in their sway
With precision measured meter so intense
Every note is a treasure left behind for us
Poets — they went nowhere right here amongst us
