Signs and Shakes

I am so glad for these paws God bestowed on me — the dog! Since it gets complicated with human paws. Also, humans do not pause, showing their paws.

Woof! Woof!

Winston Churchill, in a speech, used the ‘V’ sign — a symbol for peace — was used as a victory campaign by the Allies of World War II. The ‘V’ sign is made with the index and middle of the paws with an outward-facing paw. Sometimes, Mr. Churchill used inward facing and corrected when his aides came to his rescue.

Inward facing paw ‘V’ sign has been an offensive gesture (since early 1900) in some Commonwealth nations. So now you can see why Mr. Churchill obliged when he was corrected.

Woof! Woof!

Paw shakes are popular during the pandemic, unlike handshakes. Handshake — a gesture of peace — since you cannot grasp hands holding a weapon. Add shaking to holding paws, demonstrating no weapon hidden up the sleeve.
