a poem

Moonlight rises, bids the day farewell
The stars then dance their way down from the sky
A wondrous sight where one can ever dwell
It sways in breeze, then tries to lift and fly

Frequent moonless night leaves us longing
The twinkling stars all alone cheer us on
Wonder where the moon is, but it belongs
To us, and the blade of grass is now gone

Hovering clouds hide the moon from our sight
For the dark cloud’s silhouette, none will miss it
It’s rare, yet moonless nights can still give light
Leaves room for hope of eternal bliss

The sun, moon, stars illuminate our face
But none will mourn the shadow they replace

Thank you for reading! Much appreciated!
