An Illusion — A reality

Lack of swirling clouds
Absence of the smiling raindrops
Missing the crackling lightning
Not a gentle drip of a stream
Down the crumpled hills
With trees standing bare
Home for a thirsty crow
Whose “kaw-kaw” barely audible
An unheard thunder’s rumbling
An imagination reverberating — surreal

Wordless as the ink no longer fluid
Forty-five days after Santa left
Wish list swept under the tree skirt
Now dusted off the remaining glitter
At the altar far from the vases full of water
Hoping God witnessing all
Abates nature’s pain to continue giving us
To nurture the life cycle of the beings
Restore the ecological balance
Renew the illusion — a reality
